A personal shopper. An actual person.
Someone who learns that you want the bananas green, that the shellfish allergy is not a preference, and that Thursday works better than Tuesday this month. The same person every week (there is only one of us), not whoever accepted the batch.
$45/hour, published. Tips welcome. No markup on what we buy.
What does a personal shopper actually do?
A personal shopper buys things on your behalf and brings them to you: groceries most often, but also the specialty items, the pharmacy pickup and the return that has been sitting by your door. Unlike a delivery app, a personal shopper is a specific named person who keeps a record of your household’s preferences and applies judgement when the store is out of something.
In practice, in St. Petersburg, that means:
- Weekly grocery shopping at Publix, The Fresh Market, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods or Rollin’ Oats, whichever you actually shop.
- Specialty sourcing: Mazzaro’s for the bread and the prosciutto, a seafood counter for what came in that morning, the Saturday Morning Market in season.
- Multiple stores in one trip, delivered together, for one fee.
- Dietary and allergy shopping where reading the label properly matters.
- Put away, not left at the door: cold things in the cold, if you want that.
Published, flat, and final.
No percentage of your checkout total, no surge, no delivery fee. Tips are welcome, though never expected: the published rate is already the whole price.

Bay Personal Shopper is the shopping side of Bay House Concierge.
Same person, same insurance, same household file. This site exists because “personal shopper” is what people search for, and the full concierge business does considerably more than shopping: errands, returns, vacation rental stocking and seasonal household management.
If you only ever want the groceries handled, everything on this page is accurate and you never need the other site. If your list is longer than groceries, start there instead.
Already a client? Send this week’s list: it is sorted by store and by aisle before it reaches Pauliane, and you can pick a window on the calendar as you send it.
Or keep a running list: add to it the moment you notice you are low on something, from any phone in the house, and send the whole thing to Pauliane with one button when you are ready.

How much does a personal shopper cost in St. Petersburg, Florida?
Bay Personal Shopper charges $45 per hour with a two-hour minimum, or $45 flat for a single errand up to one hour. A standing weekly slot is $270 per month for six hours, an effective rate of $45.00 per hour. Mileage is included, tips are welcome, and you pay shelf price on everything purchased.
Is a personal shopper better than Instacart or Shipt?
For a cheap one-off run or a late-night emergency, a delivery app is better and cheaper. A personal shopper is worth hiring when the shopping is recurring, the preferences are specific, or the household has no time to manage it. The difference is that the same named person shops each time and works from a written record of your preferences, and that item prices are not marked up above shelf price.
Do you shop more than one store in a single trip?
Yes. Multiple stores are consolidated into one trip and delivered together for one fee. That includes combining a grocer with a specialty purveyor such as Mazzaro’s Italian Market or a seafood counter.
